Tukinet’s services include both private and public anonymous online discussions, taking place in real time or with a delay, published on Tukinet’s website. Access rights to the services are obtained by accepting these terms of use.
Many of Tukinet’s services are moderated either afterwards or in advance; for example, messages written in many discussion groups are reviewed and selected before they are published on the site. Tukinet reserves the right to edit all submitted writings and material, and to restrict users’ access rights to the service if necessary.
Respect other writers and their opinions. Also remember when writing that many of the service’s pages are public: they are read by people other than those writing there.
Think about what you write, correct mistakes, and only then send your message forward. If you express an opinion, justify it.
Follow the advice and instructions given by the moderators operating in the different services.
Use emoticons to help express emotions when writing. Emoticons help convey how you want your text to be understood. Plain text can often be interpreted in many ways.
Use punctuation, and in longer writings remember paragraph breaks. Do not press enter or use multiple periods/exclamation/question marks at the end of every line, as it makes the text confusing. Do not write the entire message in uppercase letters, as it is interpreted as shouting and is also difficult to read.
Do not intentionally “hijack” a discussion started by someone else: hijacking means changing the original topic into something different in the middle of the discussion thread than what the thread starter intended. If you want to discuss a new topic, start a new thread.
When you start a new discussion thread, think of a good title that describes its content. Write about the group’s topic and do so appropriately.
Do not copy material from other sites into discussions, especially if you do not have the right to copy it; instead, provide a link to the relevant site.
If you attach files to discussions, make sure you have the copyright to those files.
Swearing, inappropriate writing, or writing that generally violates good manners may, depending on the service, lead to warnings, deletion of messages, or removal of access rights. Advertisements and research requests made without permission will be removed. Appearing under multiple usernames will result in removal of access rights.
Sharing personal contact information is not allowed; compromising your own or another person’s anonymity is not allowed.
Discussion that encourages self-harm is not allowed.
